Timeline Chart of Rat Sightings in New York Boroughs 2010 - 2013 with Two Year Forecase (Lab 4 - Task 2)

In the second task for lab 4, we created a timeline chart for rat sightings in New York Boroughs. Our chart shows the x-axis as time, aggregated to the Month of the sighting, and our y-axis shows the number of rat sightings. A new feature we used in this lab, was to forecast future data points. If we look to the right side of the chart, we can see some slightly transparent data points that are predicted values. The slightly transparent lines show predictions for potential data values of rat sightings across time for the years of 2014 and 2015 where we do not have data. This could be useful for city planning as well as pest control organizations in order to allocate resources to appropriate boroughs. As with some of our discussion boards, I think it is needed that a disclaimer be put on the chart that the values on the right side of the graph are merely estimates and actual data values may vary. We facilitate this through our legend, but I would advocate for a more "in your face" disclaimer if I were to use forecasted values for a study. Ryan Facks - zID 2027325

Final Project - Chicago Divvy Bike Usage in 2019

← Back to Home Chicago Divvy Bike Usage Dashboard (EAE 452 Final Project) This dashboard is used for my final project for EAE 452. This dashboard seeks to provide a spatial temporal analysis of Divvy Bike usage across Chicago in 2019. I restricted my analysis to a single full year for two main reasons. One, the Chicago data portal only has data for 2013 - 2019 and two, there are simply too many records for Tableau to handle on my computer if I include all available data (It was over 21 million records!). The dashboard is constructed with four main components; The map view of stations and their usage numbers, the trips by hour bar chart, and the total trips bar chart, and an embeded Google maps area. Chicago Private School Dashboard and USA Child Poverty Dashboard (Lab 7 - Week 8)

← Back to Home Chicago Private School Enrollment (Lab 7 - Dashboard 1) This dashboard was created using Chicago Data Portal public data on the enrollment status of private schools within Cook County Illinois. The dashboard consists of four main components which are a map symbolized by each town, a map showing enrollment numbers that is symbolized by color and proportional size, a listing of all address locations, and a Google Maps viewer that shows the satellite view of a selected location. All of the elements of this dashboard are tied together so if you click on a data point in one, it will zoom-to and/or highlight the corresponding data point in all of the other dashboard components.
